The Regeneradores Summit<\/strong> in Latin America convenes leaders, experts, and\ncommunities committed to landscape regeneration and sustainability in the region<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On April 22, at Universidad EAN, we hosted the official launch of the Regeneradores Summit, an international convening that will bring together over 1,300 people from July 1 to 3 in Cali, Colombia, to accelerate the transition toward regenerative agriculture and livestock ranching in Latin America.
Spearheaded by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Future Landscapes, the Regeneradores Summit seeks to foster an agrifood system that restores soils, regenerates ecosystems, ensures healthier and more stable food supplies, and\nstrengthens local economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latin America: A continent of regeneration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Latin America is currently one of the world's largest food producers, while simultaneously harboring between 40% and 60% of global biodiversity. However, the expansion of agro-industrial production in many parts of the region has led to accelerated soil degradation, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and increased climate risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agrifood regeneration proposes a production approach that bridges science and local knowledge to actively conserve and restore ecosystems within and around ranching and ranching areas, while simultaneously improving their productivity and social impact. This new model is not only environmentally responsible; it also represents a viable, resilient, and equitable economic alternative to the vulnerability of current productive systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
